We are delighted that Dr. Mark Farmer, Honorary Professor at the University of Salford and national co-chair of Constructing Excellence, will join us to launch this year’s NWRC Awards. Mark will discuss the UK Construction Journey since 2016 – An update to his “Modernise or Die” Report. Mark will review the issues that were known or predicated but gives his view of changing policies and his incite into the impact of BREXIT and COVID on the construction sector now and the future.
This review from Mark will touch upon current issues that are not just for the built environment “aficionados”. Construction plays a vital role in the inclusive growth of the region and is critical to the delivery of homes, workplaces, hospitals, schools, higher education and transport infrastructure. This is more important than ever within the context of post-Covid recovery and the levelling-up agenda.
